Welcome!
The North Valley Arts Council (NoVAC) supports arts and culture for the artists, arts organizations, and citizens of Greater Grand
Forks. This is accomplished by providing services that advocate for the arts and programs that support the work of regional artists
and arts organizations.
As Executive Director, it is my mission to increase the awareness of and participation in regional arts, as well as to provide the
necessary support that artists, arts organizations, and community arts allies need to create art of substance. If you are an artist,
arts organization, or community member interested in participating in the arts, please contact us at the North Valley Arts Council so
that we can help you and the community achieve the pinnacle of artistic and cultural excellence. NoVAC is a 501c3 non-profit

September 18, 1-5pm
October 16, 1-5pm
The North Valley Arts Council and the Greater Grand Forks Convention and Visitors Bureau are pleased to present the 2010 Art & Wine Walk, which begins on June 19th from 1-5pm in downtown Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. The Walk takes place on the third Saturday of the month, June through October.
Stroll through downtown and view artwork by local artists at galleries, restaurants, and other businesses that will serve wine or other non-alcoholic refreshment. Most artwork is available for sale, and artists will be on-hand to discuss their work. The Art & Wine Walk is a great way to experience downtown Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, view artwork by regional artists, and learn about the many and varied businesses downtown.
The Art & Wine Walk begins at the Blue Moose Bar & Grill in East Grand Forks or the GuestHouse Town House in Grand Forks. Maps can be purchased for $10. At each participating business, the map will be stamped (wine consumption is not required to receive a stamp). Maps can be turned in at the closing reception at the Empire Arts Center to enter a drawing for a gift basket of prizes donated by participating businesses. The closing reception will also feature a champagne toast, with champagne donated by Happy Harry’s Bottle Shops.
Those over 21 will receive a wristband, allowing participation in wine tasting. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult receive free admission.
2010 ARTS AWARDS and ART AUCTION
September 23rd, 2010
@ The Empire Arts Center
The North Valley Arts Council is proud to announce that the 2010 Annual Arts Awards and Silent Art Auction will take place on Thursday, September 23rd at the Empire Arts Center. This year's awards theme is "Look Back and Look Forward," and the program will include a sampling of artistic works from the upcoming seasons of regional arts groups.
The accompanying Silent Art Auction is a fundraiser for the North Valley Arts Council. The funds raised make it possible for the North Valley Arts Council to continue advocating, fundraising, and supporting local arts organizations and artists. All of the pieces at this year's Silent Art Auction will start below $100. The auction is intended to help burgeoning art collectors start their own local art collections and for seasoned art collectors to fill their collections out.
Look for pictures of the available art auction pieces on this website in early September, 2010. For more information on the Awards and Auction, click here.
